places i may have been

18 x 18” acrylic, mixed media on wood panel

This series of paintings reflects a combination of my memories of real places and vivid, often surreal scenes drawn from dreams. They blend familiar feelings and emotions while weaving together past memories and fleeting visions. It’s difficult to say with certainty where the line between reality and imagination ultimately lies. What I am sure of is that these places did not fully exist before—they were created through a process of feeling, discovery, and artistic exploration.

going through

Imagining the journey, going through from one place to the other. From inside to outside, from outside moving inside.

missing

People, loved ones, experiences that are in the past, missing in the present, except for memories.

gray doubt

Options that are not there. They might have been there in the past. Maybe they’ll be there in the future. Sometimes they can be felt and almost seen, but right now, they’re choices that are not available.

heaven or las vegas

Inspired by the delightfully atmospheric and sometimes lyrically incoherent but perfectly crafted Cocteau Twins song of the same name.
